Bigger Energizer Expands OEM-Aligned Battery Service Capability for Commercial Vehicles
Bigger Energizer is pleased to announce that our Chief Engineer, Louis Ching and another battery technician, are now officially qualified to perform maintenance and repair of CATL power battery systems, having successfully completed CATL’s power battery system service skills training and certification at Level 2 (Senior Battery Technician).
This certification is issued by CATL (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited) and applies specifically to commercial vehicle battery systems, confirming our capability to work in accordance with CATL’s OEM service standards, procedures, and equipment requirements.
The Level 2 qualification confirms that the technician is:
Formally qualified and authorised under CATL’s official training framework
Capable of performing battery system inspection, maintenance, and repair
Proficient in the use of OEM diagnostic tools and service equipment
Familiar with battery pack structure, electrical schematics, and safety systems
Able to conduct fault detection, analysis, and standard-compliant repair work
Importantly, this certification is scoped to commercial vehicles, directly aligning with Bigger Energizer’s work in battery-electric heavy vehicles and municipal fleet applications.
While this certification strengthens our commercial vehicle capability, it also builds on Louis’s extensive prior experience in passenger electric vehicles.
Before leading commercial BEV engineering programs, Louis has worked hands-on with passenger EV battery systems, especially Nissan Leafs. This combination of passenger EV experience and OEM-certified commercial vehicle capability allows Bigger Energizer to bring a systems-level understanding of battery performance, safety, and lifecycle management into the heavy-duty commercial vehicle space.
Having a CATL-certified Senior Battery Technician within our engineering leadership team enhances Bigger Energizer’s ability to:
Support battery system commissioning, inspection, and service readiness
Ensure safe handling and maintenance of high-voltage battery systems
Work directly with OEM equipment, tools, and service standards
Provide increased technical confidence to fleet operators, councils, and partners
Further develop local EV battery capability by providing training and creating more local jobs
As we continue developing purpose-built BEV solutions for Australian commercial fleets, this qualification reinforces our commitment to engineering rigor, safety-first practices, and OEM-aligned execution.
Battery systems are the foundation of electric commercial vehicles. By investing in formal OEM certification and combining it with real-world experience across both passenger and commercial EV platforms, Bigger Energizer is building a robust, credible, and future-ready engineering capability to support long-term fleet deployment.
